Preschool Story Hour continues at Lone Rock on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. while school is in session.

  • No preregistration is necessary.
  • Start bringing your toddler at any point in the program.
  • We have lots of puppets and other toys to play with, and a large selection of popular bedtime stories you’ll enjoy together when you get home.
  • There are books and cassettes for you to checkout.
  • If your child is already in first or second grade, you’ll find a good collection of easy-readers and chapter books.
  • There’s time for Moms to use the computers, read the newspapers or browse the book areas while Story Hour is going on.

Open hours at the library

Library hours at Lone Rock are:

  • Monday            1 – 7 pm
  • Tuesday           10 – 7 pm
  • Wednesday     CLOSED
  • Thursday          1 – 7 pm
  • Friday               10 – 8 pm
  • Saturday           *10 – Noon
    *Closed on Saturday during the summer, starting the Saturday of Memorial Weekend.

You can call the library anytime, 583-2034, and leave a message.
If we’re open and not busy at the check-out desk, we’ll pick up when you give us your name, or call you back if we miss your message.

The Library Board is hoping to start a Friends of the Lone Rock Library group. This group would be in charge of special projects to benefit the library. If you are interested, please contact the library (608 583 2034) or one of the library board members and ask about the many benefits to being a member of the Friends of the Lone Rock Library.

Everyday is Library Card Sign-Up Day, we want to remind all of you that if you don’t have a library card for Southwest Wisconsin Library System member libraries such as Lone Rock, you can go to the Lone Rock Web Page and print off an application to turn in at the library for your free card.

While you’re on the computer, why not use the online catalog from your home or office to access our catalog of books and make some requests?

Winter 2004-2005 Computer Classes

The Lone Rock Library will again offer beginners’ computer training.
Interested persons should call the library at 583-2034 to reserve a time.
Classes are free of charge.
