Argyle Public Library

The Argyle Public Library of Argyle, Wisconsin is accepting applications for the position of Library Director. The library is part of the Southwest Wisconsin Library System. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Exceptional public and community service skills
  • A strong background in technology 
  • An energy and passion for literacy
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and fiscal management knowledge
  • Library Administration experience is desirable
  • Ability to manage long range plans, library policies, annual reports and advising the Library Board of 5 members
  • Ability to work independently

Candidates must have at least 54 semester hours of college level work; at
least half of which must be in the liberal arts and sciences. Ability to obtain
Grade 3 Public Library Certification through the Wisconsin Department of
Public Instruction is required. Candidates who are not currently certified
have four years to complete required coursework.

20-24 hours/week. Some evening and weekend work is required. Pay will be
commensurate with experience and qualifications. No residency requirement.

Program and Outreach Coordinator
Platteville Public Library
Platteville, Wisconsin

The Platteville Public Library is seeking an outgoing, service-oriented, and collaborative professional to join our team as our Program and Outreach Coordinator. The ideal candidate will exemplify the library’s values and service standards and will uphold our mission through their work coordinating library outreach, forming community relationships, planning and executing programs, and developing library collections.   

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Staffing public service desks
  • Training and supervising volunteers 
  • Providing reader’s advisory
  • Marketing library programs and resources through social media and local news sources
  • Attending workshops and meetings as needed

Bachelor’s degree or previous library work required.  ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library and Information Science preferred. 

Schedule will include nights and weekends. The starting wage is $24.17 an hour.  Benefits package available.
